We are certainly in changing times and navigating new territory in our personal and working lives. How has this affected your perspective, understandings and course for change in the education sector? I see some old structures crumbling and weight given to areas that were once dismissed as non essential skill sets in our working lives. How does this resonate with you personally and professionally? One area that is heightened is mental health and wellbeing. We see adults struggle and now the reality of its affects on younger children and older kids. We often have placed an emphasis on social and emotional development in the early years sector which has often fallen on deaf ears. However now the wheels have turned and we see that without these skill sets the ability to adapt, be flexible, having resilience, self-regulating when challenges arise are crucially important needs, that need to be met within the education system, communities and families.
So what you are listening to is important. I will start sharing these with you and you can do the same by sharing with those around you. Find what resonates, think outside the box and use what works for you to help you be well in your mind, body and environment.
